Der Al wad-Brunnen (Sabil al-Wad)

This well is located on the eastern side of the Al-Wad Trail, just south of the gate of the Qattanin Market. The Sabil was built by Sultan Sulaiman al-Qanuni on 1 Rajab 943 Hijri / 14th December 1536. The fountain consists of an architectural unit with a rectangular curvature topped by an ogival arch. Below the volume is an inscription with the various names of Sultan Suleiman and the date of construction.

Under the inscription there is a stone basin to collect the water used by pedestrians. Recently, a faucet was added to the Sabil and the well was cleaned by the Israeli authorities. The Islamic Aqwaf division appealed because it was excluded from the restoration of the Sabil.
